Graceland Track and Field Posts Strong Results at Coach Richard Alsup Invite

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Graceland University men's and women's indoor track and field teams delivered solid performances at the Coach Richard Alsup Invite, hosted by Northwest Missouri State University on Friday, January 24. Both teams showcased depth and potential, earning top finishes and personal bests across a variety of events in a competitive meet.


Men's Team Results

The men's team excelled in the sprints, jumps, and relay events, with several standout performances.

Sprints and Relays

Senior Robert Robinson led the Yellowjackets in the sprints, clocking 7.19 seconds in the 60-meter dash preliminaries to finish 18th. He also placed 11th in the 200 meters, finishing with a time of 22.85 seconds. Sophomore Kaeden Monday (23.10) and junior Brice Taylor (22.99) followed closely, securing top-20 finishes.

In the 4x400 relay, Graceland's "A" team of Robinson, Monday, senior Paul Marchand, and sophomore Caden Israel earned 12th place with a time of 3:31.34. Two additional relay teams represented Graceland, finishing 17th and 23rd.

Jumps

Sophomore Joseph Alexander captured first place in the long jump, with a top mark of 6.69 meters (21'11.5"). Freshman Elias Walker also performed well, placing ninth with a jump of 6.27 meters (20'7").

In the triple jump, sophomore Dantre Kennybrew finished sixth with a leap of 12.57 meters (41'3"), while Walker placed 14th with a mark of 11.79 meters (38'8.25").

Throws

Sophomore Frankie Vigil led Graceland in the weight throw, achieving a best distance of 12.34 meters (40'6") to place 19th. Sophomore Luke Hass (10.75 meters) and junior Logan Miller (10.32 meters) rounded out the top performers.

In the shot put, Hass achieved a throw of 10.77 meters, finishing 38th overall. He was followed by sophomore James Jakubowski (10.47 meters) and freshman Vic Tuitele (9.50 meters).


Women's Team Results

The women's team shone in the sprints, relays, and field events, with multiple athletes earning top finishes.

Sprints and Relays

Sophomore Ambar Fulgencio led the charge in the 60-meter dash, finishing in 8.20 seconds to place 14th overall. She followed up with a strong showing in the 200 meters, placing 18th with a time of 27.30 seconds.

In the 400 meters, senior Jasmine Campbell crossed the line in 1:01.85, earning a top-10 finish in ninth place. Freshman Lana Evans also contributed, finishing in 1:07.03.

Graceland's 4x400 relay team of Fulgencio, Campbell, junior Kaitlyn Jones, and Evans placed eighth with a time of 4:16.75.

Jumps and Throws

Sophomore Samantha Howell delivered a strong performance in the long jump, placing seventh with a mark of 4.96 meters (16'3.25"). Freshman Alicia Harper followed in 12th place with a jump of 4.72 meters (15'6").

In the shot put, junior Emily Miller led Graceland with a throw of 9.85 meters (32'3.75"), earning 20th place. Senior Katie Logan finished just behind with a mark of 9.53 meters (31'3.25").

In the weight throw, senior Sarah Winslow posted a best mark of 12.10 meters (39'8.5"), placing 15th, while Miller placed 18th with a throw of 11.20 meters (36'9").

  • Joseph Alexander: First place in the long jump (6.69 meters)
  • Robert Robinson: Top-20 finishes in the 60 meters (18th) and 200 meters (11th)

  • Ambar Fulgencio: 14th place in the 60 meters (8.20 seconds)
  • Jasmine Campbell: Ninth place in the 400 meters (1:01.85)
  • 4x400 Relay (Women's "A" Team): Eighth place (4:16.75)

Looking Ahead

Both teams will return to competition on Friday, January 24, at the Fighting Bee Invite on the campus of St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.
