Men’s Soccer Opens the Season Victorious Over Mount Marty

Yankton, S.D. - Graceland University Men's Soccer team went up against the Mount Marty University Lancers. The Yellowjackets defeated the Lancers, 4-1. The Yellowjackets start their season off 1-0.

Scoring:
First Half:
The Yellowjackets would come out hot to start their first regular season game. Graceland would work to push through the defenders, and Kendall Guzman Soto would find the back of the net from the left with a quick pass from Adam Wiman and Samuel Steiner. The Yellowjackets would add their second goal from an across-the-box pass by Mario Salinas to find David Hopfer to put Graceland up 2-0. Mount Marty would work to close the gap to one, finding the back of the net moments later.

Second Half:
Lucas Porter would drill in his first goal of the year, with an assist from Ashton Adrian (3-1). Andrew Porter would attack the net, and Stosh Nevshemal would open a second attempt for A. Porter to find the back of the net, blocking out the Lancer Defender. The Yellowjackets would hold the Lancers scorless for the remainder of the game to win 4-1.
