Women’s Volleyball Stopped by Mount Mercy

Lamoni, Iowa - The Graceland University women's volleyball team took on the Mount Mercy University Mustangs. The Yellowjacket were taken down by the Mustangs, 3-0. Graceland moves to 7-16 on the season and 4-11 in conference.

Graceland (7-16, 4-11) vs. Mount Mercy (19-6, 12-3)
Set 1: Graceland 16 | Mount Mercy 25
Both teams would start competitively, trading the lead. Graceland would add a 4-2 rally to take a two-point advantage (7-5) with points from Arissa Carpenter (kill) and Allison Long (ace). Mount Mercy would answer with a 9-1 rally to take a seven-point lead (17-10), Brenna Crabtree would pause the run, and Long would break it. The Mustangs would snatch a 3-0 run to take the first set.

Set 2: Graceland 22 | Mount Mercy 25
Mount Mercy would start and take the early lead. Graceland would close their deficit to one point (7-6) with points from Ella Thomas and Arissa Carpenter (two kills). The Mustangs would answer with a four-point jump. Later in the set, the Yellowjackets would close their deficit to one point from the service of Addison Demesko, adding back-to-back aces (14-13). Graceland would tie the set 21-21 under the service of Shelby Jabour; Brenna Crabtree would add three kill points. The Mustangs would retake the lead and the set.

Set 3: Graceland 15 | Mount Mercy 25
The Yellowjackets would start their fire to take the early 6-2 lead from Brenna Crabtree (two kill points) and Addison Demesko (ace). The Mustangs would retaliate with a 7-point rally to overtake the Yellowjacket lead (9-6). Midway through the set, Graceland would close their deficit to tie 11-11. Mount Mercy would answer for a 9-1-point jump (18-11), and they would snatch the remaining five of seven points for the 25-15 victory.
