Women’s Volleyball Takes Three Set Victory Against Culver-Stockton

Lamoni, Iowa - The Graceland University women's volleyball team took on the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats. The Yellowjacket defeated the Wildcats, 3-0. Graceland moves to 5-10 on the season and 2-5 in conference.

Set 1: Graceland 25 | Culver-Stockton 19
The Yellowjackets would claim the first point of the set, which followed a Culver-Stockton three-rally (3-1). Arissa Carpenter would push the Yellowjackets to a five-point rally – with all five kills (10-5). Graceland would hold a lead over Culver-Stockton of nine points. The Wildcats would retaliate to close their deficit to four points. Graceland would hit .294 with 17 kills on 34 attacks. The set would end with an Ali Gillen kill.

Set 2: Graceland 25 | Culver-Stockton 16
Graceland would come out on fire to work an 11-6 lead over the Culver-Stockton; key points from Arissa Carpenter, Brenna Crabtree, Hailey Kauweloa Sera Tofi and Allison Long. The Yellowjackets would continue their offensive push to a 7-2 rally from the service of Addison Demesko. Graceland would hold the Wildcats to take the second set.

Set 3: Graceland 25 | Culver-Stockton 19
The Wildcats came into the third set on first, taking the lead and holding an advantage over the Yellowjackets. Marlis Aviles would have back-to-back service aces and push the Yellowjackets to take the lead (18-14). The Yellowjackets would take the last four points, key kills from Allison Long and Arissa Carpenter.
