Bio

Kevin Brunner started coaching the men’s and women’s Yellowjacket golf teams in the fall of 2001. The teams have won several tournaments over his tenure as golf coach. Both the men’s and women’s teams have finished as runner-up at the conference tournament barely missing a trip to the national tournament. He has had multiple players (2006 and 2013) win the Heart of America Athletic Conference golf tournament. He has conducted a summer golf camp in late June for area children since 2003 where attendance has grown to as high as 72 young golfers. He has created a very impressive practice facility over his tenure as head coach that includes a driving range with a heated indoor practice area. The coach is still an avid golfer and is excited about the future of golf at Graceland.

Coach Brunner is native to Colorado where he won a state golf tournament in summer of his High School years and he won many junior events while growing up on the northeastern plains. He graduated from Graceland in 1986. While attending Graceland, he played on the Yellowjacket golf team and won a sudden-death playoff to make the all-district team in 1984 and made the all-conference team in 1986. After graduation, he worked at Cerner Corporation until 1998 when he made the switch from software development to teaching. In 2001, he added coaching the golf teams to his responsibilities at Graceland.

Coach Brunner is married to Heather (Badder) and has three children Keeley (’15), Timothy (’18) and Tiffany (’18).
