Graceland Women's Golf Wraps Up Play at Park Invitational

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Graceland University women's golf team continued its spring season with two individuals competing at the Park Invitational on March 28, hosted at The Deuce at The National in Parkville, Missouri. The tournament field featured a strong lineup of NAIA programs and regional junior colleges, with Graceland represented by sophomore Rylee Zimmerman and junior Cydney Stables.

Zimmerman led the Yellowjackets with a round of 108 to tie for 35th overall. Stables finished just behind, carding a 112 to place 45th. Both athletes competed as individuals in the one-day, 18-hole event and gained valuable competitive experience on a challenging layout.

The event was dominated by Park University, whose team secured the title with a score of 313. Mount Marty finished second with a 341, followed by Simpson University at 346. A total of 49 players from eight institutions completed the round.

The Deuce course, known for its tight fairways and elevated greens, provided a demanding test for the field. Graceland's players navigated the layout with a focus on consistency and course management.

Head coach Kevin Brunner emphasized the long-term value of the experience.

"This was a competitive field and a demanding course—exactly the kind of environment we want our players to be in," Brunner said. "For Rylee and Cydney, it was a chance to test their preparation under tournament pressure. We saw some positive steps, but we know there's still room for growth in terms of short-game execution and decision-making on approach shots. These rounds give us data, but more importantly, they give our players perspective on where we need to focus in practice. I'm proud of their effort, and we'll look to build on this moving forward."

Graceland will return to team competition at the Park Spring Classic, scheduled for April 7–8 at The Bluffs Golf Club in Parkville, Missouri. The event will serve as another opportunity for the Yellowjackets to sharpen their scoring and continue building toward peak form ahead of conference championships.
