Women’s Basketball Clipped Culver-Stockton

Lamoni, Iowa - The Graceland University Women's Basketball team took on the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats. The Yellowjackets defeated the Wildcats, 66-65. Moving to 11-16 on the season and 9-14 in the Heart

Quarter 1: Graceland 20 | Culver-Stockton 10
Alana Swift would break the board and open the game with a jumper. Moments later, Bryanna Griffiths (nine points) drains a three and pushes an 11-point run (13-2); Trinity Greenwood would contribute. The Wildcats would answer for a five-point jump (13-7). A jumper from Heaven Mbaruk would stop the run. Swift (jumper) and Janiyah Davis (three-pointer) would close the quarter to lead by 10 points (20-10).

Quarter 2: Graceland 12 | Culver-Stockton 24
Both teams would trade points. The Wildcats would add an eight-point jump to close the gap to one point (27-26); moments later, they would take the lead from a layup. Claudinae Hurt would even the score from the line (32-32). Culver-Stockton would take a two-point lead from the line, heading into halftime with a score of 34-32.

Quarter 3: Graceland 18 | Culver-Stockton 17
Culver would add to their lead to start the third quarter. Heaven Mbaruk would break the run with a layup (8-minute mark), and Alana Swift would follow from the field (38-34). Back-to-back three-pointers from Sophia Rodriguez would push Graceland ahead (42-40). Both teams would trade points. The Wildcats would push late and take a one-point lead from the line (51-50).

Quarter 4: Graceland 16 | Culver-Stockton 14
The Wildcats would continue their offensive push with a six-point jump to lead by seven (59-52). Alana Swift would find eight points and push the Yellowjackets ahead by one point (62-61), and Bryanna Griffiths would add two from the field to add a three-point lead. Vegas Camacho drained a jumper to give Graceland a five-point advantage. The Yellowjackets would hold their lead and take down the Wildcats by one point.
