Women’s Basketball Stopped by MidAmerica

Olathe, Kan. - The Graceland University Women's Basketball team took on the MidAmerica Nazarene University Pioneers. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Pioneers, 89-46 Moving to 10-15 on the season and 8-14 in the Heart

Graceland (10-16, 8-14) | MidAmerica (16-10, 15-7)
Quarter 1: Graceland 8 | MidAmerica 18
Alana Swift opened the game field (2-0). The Pioneers would push a five-point jump, Trinity Greenwood broke the run from the field and would trail by one point (5-4). MidAmerica found an eight-point jump; Janiyah Davis would pause the jump from the field (15-8). The Pioneers would close the first quarter leading by ten points (18-8).

Quarter 2: Graceland 15 | MidAmerica 19
The Pioneers would open the half from the arches, and Trinity Greenwood sank a two (21-10). Graceland would see baskets from Vegas Camacho, Greenwood, and Heaven Mbaruk. Graceland would add a five-point jump to close their deficit to 12 points (35-23). MidAmerica would lead heading into the halftime with a score of 37-23.

Quarter 3: Graceland 8 | MidAmerica 18
Trinity Greenwood would break the scoreless quarter, draining one from the field, 37-25 (eight-minute mark). Heaven Mbaruk would break a Pioneer four-point jump (41-27). Late in the quarter, Bryanna Griffiths would add two from the line. MidAmerican would drain two and lead by 24 heading into the fourth quarter (55-31).

Quarter 4: Graceland 15 | MidAmerica 34
The Yellowjackets would see baskets from Heaven Mbaruk, Claudinae Hurt, Sophia Rodriguez, Trinity Greenwood, Janiyah Davis and Camry Dillie. MidAmerica would increase their lead and take the victory.
