Women’s Basketball Taken Down by Peru State

Lamoni, Iowa - The Graceland University Women's Basketball team took on the Peru State College Bobcats. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Bobcats, 91-77 Moving to 10-15 on the season and 8-13 in the Heart

Graceland (10-15, 8-13) | Peru (11-14, 8-13)
Quarter 1: Graceland 12 | Peru 22
Trinity Greenwood would sink the game's first eight points and have an advantage of 8-6 (seven-minute mark). Peru would answer with a 12-point jump to take a nine-point lead. Greenwood would break the run with a layup (17-10). Alana Swift would sink a late jumper to close the Yellowjacket deficit to ten points (22-12).

Quarter 2: Graceland 25 | Peru 21
The Bobcats would dump five to open the second quarter (27-12). A Graceland layup by Trinity Greenwood would break the run. Avery Walker-Henry would sink a three and push for a nine-point jump, baskets from Claudinae Hurt (three-pointer) and Alana Swift (layup and free throw). Moments later, Graceland would add an 11-point jump and baskets from Walker-Henry, Hurt, Swift and Bryanna Griffiths. The Yellowjackets would trail by six heading into halftime (43-37).

Quarter 3: Graceland 14 | Peru 21
Peru would add the first run at the six-minute mark with five points (53-42). Avery Walker-Henry broke the run from the field. Both teams would trade points. Alana Swift would close the third quarter with a layup (64-51).

Quarter 4: Graceland 26 | Peru 27
Heaven Mbaruk would add a pair from the field at the six-minute mark to close the deficit by 16 points (75-59). Graceland would see baskets from Mbaruk, Alana Swift, Avery Walker-Henry, and Trinity Greenwood. The Bobcats would hold their lead and take the 91-77 victory.
