Women's Basketball Stopped by Clarke

Dubuque, Iowa. - The Graceland University Women's Basketball team took on the Clarke University Pride. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Pride, 91-83. Moving to 9-10 on the season and 7-8 in the Heart

Graceland (9-10, 7-8) | Clarke (9-9, 7-7)
Quarter 1: Graceland 23 | Clarke 22
Avery Walker-Henry would open the game by draining a layup, and Alana Swift would follow with her own layup (4-0). The Pride would work and slowly shrink their deficit and take the lead (14-12). Swift would break the run and even the score and moments later take the lead (16-14). Vegas Camacho and Walker-Henry would add to the five-point lead (20-15). Clarke closed the gap to one ending the first quarter (23-22).

Quarter 2: Graceland 19 | Clarke 31
The Pride would retake their lead early in the second quarter from the line and would push an 8-0 run after (32-23). Trinity Greenwood would break the run with a layup (32-25). Both teams would trade points. Clarke would extend their lead to 17 points. Graceland would add a late 6-0 run to close the gap to nine points, baskets from Greenwood and Alana Swift. Clarke would lead 53-42 going into the halftime.

Quarter 3: Graceland 17 | Clarke 25
Both teams would open the third quarter trading baskets. Late in the third half, Graceland would find the first extended run of 7-0, baskets from Alana Swift and Camry Dillie (65-57). The Pride would answer with an eight-point jump (72-57) and hold their lead, closing the third quarter with a layup (78-59).

Quarter 4: Graceland 24 | Clarke 13
Trinity Greenwood would start the fourth quarter by draining a jumper (78-61). Graceland would add a late 13-2 run to close the gap to nine points, baskets from Greenwood, Camry Dillie, and Heaven Mbaruk. Clarke would hold their advantage and take the 91-83 victory.
