Women’s Basketball Overcame Baker

Lamoni, Iowa. - The Graceland University Women's Basketball team took on Baker University Wildcats. The Yellowjackets defeated the Wildcat, 66-60. Moving to 7-8 on the season and 5-6 in the Heart

Graceland (7-8, 5-6) | Baker (2-15, 2-11)
Quarter 1: Graceland 13 | Baker 17
The Wildcats would get on the board first. Avery Walker-Henry would sink a jumper and push the Yellowjackets to a six-point jump to lead; baskets by Heaven Mbaruk and Alana Swift would contribute (10-7). The Wildcats would answer to retake the lead with a nine-point collection. Baker would close the first quarter by sinking a three-pointer (17-13).

Quarter 2: Graceland 15 | Baker 14
Graceland would add six to close the deficit to one point from a collection of baskets by Alana Swift (four points) and Trinity Greenwood (two points). Avery Walker-Henry would close the gap to three points with a last-minute jumper. Wildcats would lead heading into the half 31-28.

Quarter 3: Graceland 15 | Baker 9
Graceland would come out on fire, closing the gap and taking the lead. Baskets from Claudinae Hurt, Trinity Greenwood, Heaven Mbaruk, and Avery Walker-Henry would contribute. The Yellowjackets would take a three-point leave from made charity stripe by Mbaruk (43-40).

Quarter 4: Graceland 23 | Baker 20
Alana Swift would open the game, sinking a jumper (45-40). Both teams would trade baskets. The Yellowjackets would hold their lead and close the game by sinking a Heaven Mbaruk layup, and a Swift made free throws for a 66-60 victory.
