Women’s Basketball Falls to Grand View

Lamoni, Iowa - The Graceland University Women's Basketball team took on the Grand View University Vikings. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Vikings, 81-65. Moving to 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in the Heart

Graceland (3-4; 1-2) | Grand View (6-0; 3-0)
Quarter 1: Graceland 11 | Grand View 23
The Vikings would get on the board first and take an early lead (6-0); a Heaven Mbaruk jumper would break the collection. Avery Henry-Walker would follow with a jumper to close the deficit to two points (6-4). Grand View would answer to put up seven points (16-7) and close the first quarter to lead by 12 (23-11).

Quarter 2: Graceland 20 | Grand View 15
Graceland would find their fire. Kymani Freeman would sink one from the deep, followed by Sophia Rodriguez's free throw. Both teams would trade baskets. Graceland would sink points from Alana Swift, Camry Dillie, Heaven Mbaruk Trinity Greenwood and Avery Henry-Walker. The Yellowjackets would close their deficit to seven points from a Greenwood last-second layup (38-31).

Quarter 3: Graceland 17 | Grand View 22
Both teams would trade baskets. Grand View would push a five-point lead (46-33). The Yellowjackets would collect five from Heaven Mbaruk and Camry Dillie. Bryanna Griffiths would close the gap to ten points (58-48). The Vikings would close the third quarter, sinking two to extend their lead to 12 (60-48).

Quarter 4: Graceland 17 | Grand View 21
Janiyah Davis would open the fourth quarter with a layup. The Yellowjackets would see points from Kymani Freeman, Camry Dillie, Davis, Heaven Mbaruk, and Avery Henry-Walker. The Vikings would hold their lead over the Yellowjackets to take the 81-65 victory.
