Bio

Evan Hansen is joining the Graceland Men's Wrestling program after several successful coaching stints and an elite collegiate and prep wrestling career.

Coach Hansen's most recent coaching position was as Head Wrestling Coach at AHSTW High School in Avoca, Iowa throughout the 2023-2024 season. Prior to AHSTW High School, he was an assistant coach at Avila University, Ottawa University, and Grand View University.

Coach Hansen boasts an incredible collegiate wrestling career including becoming a four-time NAIA National Champion, being named 2018 NAIA Most Outstanding Wrestler, being a significant contributor to four NAIA Team National Championships, and becoming a 3x Junior World Team Trials Qualifier.

"I'm excited for this opportunity and to get back into college coaching. Through the hiring process, it was evident this team aligns with my values and vision. I believe this will be a fun year, with a great group of guys working to see how good we can be," states Evan Hansen.

Evan attended Grand View University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Prior to his collegiate career, he attended Exira-EHK High School in Elkhorn, Iowa while becoming a two-time state champion and three-time state medalist.

"We are excited to add a phenomenal wrestler like Evan to our coaching staff, but even more excited to add a character-driven coach that aligns with our program's values and wants to make a difference in these young men's lives. I'm confident Evan's work ethic, passion for excellence, and knowledge in wrestling will help our program continue to put student-athletes in position to be successful in wrestling, in the classroom, and ultimately in life," said Head Wrestling Coach Zack Mullins.
