Bio
Majors enters his first season as Men's Volleyball Head Coach.
Eric Majors comes to Graceland after serving as Assistant Coach for the Drake University Women’s Volleyball team, where he directed scouting reports and game plan creation, served as the primary blocking coach, and was the offensive coordinator. His achievements include a school-record 30-8 season in 2022, reaching both the MVC Championship game and the NIVC championship game (runner-up). In 2023, Drake reached its highest RPI ranking in school history (54) and achieved a historic win over UC Santa Barbara (34). Majors coached four All-Conference players, including Freshman of the Year, Libero of the Year, and Player of the Year.
Prior to Drake, Majors held the Head Coaching position at Avila University, where he led the team to the highest conference finish in Avila KCAC history, secured the first conference tournament win in KCAC history for Avila, and recorded the most conference wins in school history (10). Three of his players earned All-Conference honors.
During his tenure as Associate Head Coach at McNeese State University (NCAA Division I), Majors led his players to four consecutive Southland Conference Championship qualifications. He directed a serving attack that ranked third nationally in aces per set in NCAA Division I in 2014 and coached five All-Conference players, including the Louisiana Player of the Year.
Previously at Graceland, Majors contributed to the most successful season in recent memory for the Men’s Volleyball team, winning the MAVIC West Conference Tournament (2011-12) and qualifying for NAIA Nationals for the first time in school history. He also directed the women’s varsity offensive attack, guiding them to their best finish in seven years with a 2nd place in conference and 2nd in the HAAC Conference Tournament (2012-13). For these accomplishments, Majors was named “AVCA/NAIA Midwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year.”
In club volleyball, Majors spent time with Texas Tornadoes Volleyball Club as head coach of the 18 and 11 Mizuno teams. His 18 Mizuno team earned a bronze medal at the Mid-East National Qualifier and a third-place finish in the Houston Shutout, while his 11 Mizuno team ranked in the Top 3 in Houston. Majors also directed the Sandshark Volleyball Club in Kansas City from 2006-2014, where he led 50% of his teams to qualify for USAV Junior Nationals, one of the highest qualification ratios in the Heart of America Region, training numerous players who became primary contributors at the collegiate level.
As a player, Majors competed at Graceland University as a middle blocker, contributing to teams that finished 2nd, 5th, and 9th at the NIRSA Collegiate Nationals. He was named to the MIVA All-Tournament Team in his senior season.
