Men’s Basketball Stung Central Methodist

Fayette, Mo. - The Graceland University Men's Basketball team took on the Central Methodist University Eagles. The Yellowjackets defeated the Eagles, 74-64. Graceland move to 17-6 and are 15-5 in the conference.

Half 1: Graceland 33 | Central Methodist 34
Patrick Fisher opened the game from the field, and the Eagles would answer (2-2). Austin Braun would drain one from the arches to regain the lead (5-4). Both teams would trade baskets. Central Methodist would find the first large lead from a seven-point jump (12-7). A free throw from Darrius Davis would break the run. Braun would add five points to close the deficit to two points (15-13). Amitai Afenjar would sink a layup to close the gap to one point, and moments later, Carter Brown drained a basket from beyond the arches to take advantage (21-19). Akeen Woods push a three-point lead from a made two-pointer and free throw (24-21). The Eagles would find six and trade the lead (34-30). Carson Busch would add a late layup to close the gap to two points, and to close the first half, Brown would make it from the line. The Eagles would lead by one heading into halftime, 34-33.

Half 2: Graceland 41 | Central Methodist 30
Austin Braun opened the second half to sink five points and take the advantage (38-34); minutes later, Patrick Fisher would add one from the field to add a four-point lead (40-36). Fisher would add back-to-back three, drain a jumper and free throw to increase the gap (51-41). Darrius Davis would follow to sink back-to-back layups. Graceland would continue to put up points, with baskets from Fisher (three-pointer) and Julius Raudonius (from the field) (60-44). Within the last minute of play, the Yellowjackets would see baskets from Braun, Amitai Afenjar and Carter Brown to hold the ten-point lead over the Eagles for a 74-64 victory.
