Men’s Basketball Taken Down by Waldorf

Forest City, Iowa – The Graceland University Men's Basketball team took on the Waldorf University Warriors. The YellowJackets were defeated by the Warriors, 74-64 and move to 2-1.

Graceland (2-1) | Waldorf (2-3)
Half 1: Graceland 39 | Waldorf 35
The Yellowjackets would create the first advantage from a Darrius Davis layup and free throw, and Carson Busch would follow to sink one from the deep (9-4). Graceland would add to their advantage with a five-point jump with baskets by Patrick Fisher and Aleksa Markovic (17-9). The Warriors would retaliate and take the lead (17-19), and their run would be broken by an Akeen Woods layup (19-19). Graceland would retake the lead with an Amitia Afenjar layup. The Yellowjackets would hold onto the lead heading into the halftime with a score of 39-35; points would be contributed by Carter Brown, Woods, Fisher, Markovic, and Davis.

Half 2: Graceland 25 | Waldorf 39
Waldorf would tie the game within the first three minutes of the second half (39-39), and Austin Braun's jumper would cut their run short. The Warriors would turn the tide with a five-point jump to lead by three (47-44). Later in the half, an Aleksa Markovic layup and free throw would pull their deficit to two points; he would tie the game moments later with a layup. Both teams would trade baskets. With less than five minutes on the clock, the Warriors would make an 11-point run to take the lead and the victory of 74-64.
