Four Named to the 23-24 NAIA Dance All-American Teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Makayla Messaris of Oklahoma City and Nyah Brooks from Viterbo (Wis.) are named Co-Dancer of the Year while the rest of the 2023 NAIA Competitive Dance All-Americans team has been announced.

Morgan Pfohl of St. Ambrose (Iowa) has reached All-American status for the fourth time in her career. The Red Banner winning team placed five onto the First Team while Oklahoma City, St. Francis (Ill.), and Viterbo (Wis.) each had two. On the Second Team, Grand View (Iowa) has three, Thomas More (Ky.) a pair and two each for the OCU Stars and V-Hawks.

NAIA All-American First Team
Bryce Clausen | Jr. | Libson, Iowa
Clausen has dance for the Yellowjackets for three years. He has earned Heart All-Conference First Team honors this season and was named Heart Dance of the Year. He has been named an All-American for the third consecutive year.

Cadence Sires | Fr. | Johnston, Iowa
Sires competed for here first year as a Yellowjackets. She earned Heart All-Conference second team honors.

NAIA All-American First Team
Velia Castillo | Fr. | Las Vegas, Nev.
Castillo competed for here first year as a Yellowjackets.

NAIA All-American Third Team
Carleigh O'Dell | Jr. | Leon, Iowa
O'Dell has been with the Yellowjackets for three seasons.

The Yellowjackets would compete at the NAIA Dance National Championship for the first time in program history. They would finish seventh over all with a score of 83.52.
