Four Named to Heart Baseball All-Conference List

Overland Park, Kan. – The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its annual Heart Baseball All-Conference teams and postseason award winners on Thursday.

The All-Conference teams feature players from across the Heart and are listed as First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention.

Below you will also find the 2024 Heart Baseball Gold Glove Team.

The individual awards and All-Conference teams were selected by the Heart baseball head coaches.

Heart Baseball All-Conference Second Team Relief Pitcher
6 Stephen Eskridge| Jr. | Pitcher |6-2 | Canton, Ill.
Eskridge threw 27.1 innings as a relief and recorded 38 strikeouts, averaging 12.51 per nine-inning game. He had ten saves during the season and tied for second as the NAIA leader in saves. He was also selected as the Heart Player of the Week.

Heart Baseball All-Conference Honorable Mention Short Stop

9 Zach Tanabe | Jr. | Short Stop | Waipahu, Hawaii
Tanabe played and started in all 48 games for the Yellowjackets and would have a .310 batting average with an on-base percentage of .400 and a slugging percentage of .517. He would have 45 hits on the seasons, 13 doubles, one triple and five home runs. He was a part of 6 double plays and would have 56 putouts with 83 assists. Tanabe would work in ten stolen bases and bring in 30 runs.

Heart Baseball All-Conference Honorable Mention Catcher
23 Ybriham Quevedo| C-Sr. | Catcher |5-11 | Naguanagua, VZ
Quevedo would see 40 games for Graceland, for 30 hits, five doubles, one triple and nine home runs. H would have a batting average of .280, an on-base percentage of .401 and a slugging percentage of .598. He would be a part of 15 assists and have 128 putouts.

Heart Golden Glove Second Base
11 Jacob Lopez |Sr. | Second Base |5-9 | Alhambra, Calif.
Lopez would appear in 46 games for the Yellowjackets. He was a part of 15 double plays, with 99 putouts and 70 assists. He would have a batting average of .308, a on base percentage of .415 and a slugging percentage of .398. Lopez would have 41 hits on the season, ten doubles, and one triple, and would he hit 11 times by pitchers.
