Bio

Mari Chandler is the Athletic Operation Coordinator.

 

She began as a temporary full-time employee in 2000 to help Human Resources with their conversion to a new system and reorganization of their filing.  She also had the opportunity to work in Admissions and Accounting as a temp before filling a full-time spot in the Student Account office where she worked from 2001 to 2007.

Chandler served as the Club Cheer coach from Fall 2002-Spring 2009. In 2009 Cheer and Dance were officially added as sports and she continued to serve as the Varsity head cheer coach through spring 2012.

Chandler moved to the athletic department in 2007 and became the Office Manager for 17 sports.  In 2012 her position transferred into full-time Athletic Operations, and she stepped away as the cheer coach. In 2018, she added the role of head dance coach to her duties, which she did for 3 years before proposing the creation of a spirit squad and becoming the director.  

In high school, Mari was a four-year basketball and softball starter and was an active member of the cheer and dance squads as well as the choir.

Mari has two children, Tyson McLain and Danica (McLain) Stoll (GU Alum) of Lamoni, IA and two granddaughters Nola and Zella Stoll.
