Women’s Indoor Track and Field Opens Season at Mel Tjeerdsma Classic; Nine Top ten Finishers

Maryville, Mo. – Graceland University Women's Indoor Track and Field team would open their 2023-24 season at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic.

The Yellowjacket's would have nine top ten finishers. In second place; Sidney Gilliland in High Jump (1.65m) hitting the NAIA "B" Standard and Amelia Nyambuka in Triple Jump (10.56m). Nyambuka would also finish fifth in Long Jump (5.15m PB). In Sixth place; Eden Clifton in the 60-Meter Dash (7.79) and the 200-Meter Dash (25.90), and Trinity Hancock Triple Jump (9.71m). Caitlin Grover for the 1 Mile Run (5:46.28) and the 4x400-Meter Dash would finish seventh. In Shot Put Hannah Kling (11.53m) would place ninth.

Up Next:
The Women's Indoor Track and Field Team will be back in the new year when they travel to Maryville, Mo. on Saturday, January 20, to take on the Northwest Open.
