Bio

Head coach Quinton Harley enters his first season at the helm of the Yellowjacket indoor and outdoor track & field programs.

Harley most recently spent two seasons at Upper Iowa Univeristy as a full-time assistant coach. He has a vast amount of experience in coaching track & field, he has been on staff as an assistant or volunteer coach for five different institutions. Prior to his coaching career, Harley was a five-time All-American athlete in high school. Harley ran at Lake Erie College for two seasons and won the 2011 400m Hurdle GLIAC championship. He was named as a NCAA Division II All-American First Team performer in 2011. Harley then transferred to compete at East Carolina University, an NCAA Division I institution, for his remaining two years of eligibility.

Harley earned a Bachelor’s Degree in sport studies from East Carolina in 2013. Harley then received his Master’s Degree in physical education in 2018 from the University of Nebraska-Kearney, where he served as a graduate assistant to the track and field team for two seasons.

Harley got his start in coaching as a volunteer coach at ECU upon gradation. After one season with the Pirates, he was hired on as an assistant at Xavier University of Louisiana. Harley spent one year at Xavier before moving onto Adrian College (MI) where he spent a year as an assistant prior to serving two years at Nebraska-Kearney. After obtaining his Master’s Degree, Harley joined the staff at Ohio Wesleyan University as an assistant. Harley will specialize in sprints, hurdles, relays and jumps.
