Women’s Volleyball Fell in the Fifth Set to the Bobcats

Peru, Neb. - The Graceland University women's volleyball team took on the Peru State College Bobcats. The Yellowjacket fell to the Bobcats, 3-2. Graceland moves to 4-7 on the season and 1-2 in conference.

Graceland (4-7, 1-2) vs. Peru State (6-9; 1-2)
Set 1: Graceland 25 | Peru State 22
The Bobcats would find the first lead (8-2). Graceland would work from behind to close the gap and take the lead (16-14); key points from Allison Long, Breanne Crabtree and Ella Thomas. Peru State would retake their lead with a 3-point rally; the rally was cut short by a Crabtree kill. Shelby Jabour would take the service and add to the four-point jump, and Graceland would hold their lead for the set.

Set 2: Graceland 25 | Peru State 23
Peru State would enter with the same dynamic to take the lead early 12-6. Graceland would retaliate to tie 12-12, with kills from Sierra Kauweloa, Arissa Carpenter and a service ace from Shelby Jabour. Both teams would trade points. Back-to-back kills from Graceland's Carpenter and Kaylee Baker would end the second set.

Set 3: Graceland 21 | Peru State 25
Graceland would close the early deficit to two points (8-10) with a five-point jump. The Yellowjackets would work from behind to close the gap to one under the serve by Addison Demesko. The Bobcats would answer to take the third set.

Set 4: Graceland 24 | Peru State 26
Both teams would come out on fire to trade the lead. Graceland would find a three-point lead from a kill and an ace by Allison Long and a kill from Brenna Crabtree. The Bobcats would answer to close their gap and take five of the remaining six points.

Set 5: Graceland 5 | Peru State 15
Peru State entered the fifth set to take an early lead. They would hold an advantage of six points (10-4). The Bobcats would take the set with a 6-1 rally.
