Women's Volleyball Defeated in the Fifth Set by the Wildcats.

Baldwin, Kan.  -  The Graceland University women's volleyball team took on the Baker (Kan.) University Wildcats. The Yellowjackets were defeated in tough match up 2-3, now 7-16 on the season and 2-10 in conference.

 

Graceland (7-16; 2-10) vs. Wildcats (5-16, 3-9)

Set 1: Graceland 25 | Wildcats 21

Both Teams came out of the gate on fire. The Wildcats were able to create an advantage with a four-point run (7-11). The Yellowjackets were able to break away late in the set, taking seven of the last eight points. The last three points came from an Addison Demesko service ace, and back-to-back kills from Megan Janok and Rakenzy Pryor

Set 2: Graceland 20 | Wildcats 25

Continuing their grove, Graceland came out with a five-point run from the serves of Allison long to take the lead (6-3). Both teams work to take the lead. Late in the set, Baker would take the lead (19-20) and not look back, taking the second set with a hitting percentage of .423.

Set 3: Graceland 25 | Wildcats 23

The Yellowjackets would retaliate to start the set, taking the first seven of ten points. Graceland would regain their lead, pulling their advantage to five points. A last-minute three-point scoring run from the Wildcats would close their deficit to a tie. A kill from Arissa Carpenter and Megan Janok would end the set in victory.

Set 4: Graceland 26 | Wildcats 28

Baker pulled ahead first, having five points over the Yellowjackets (9-14). An attack error by the Wildcats allowed the Yellowjackets to go in a 7-1 run trading place (21-18). Both teams would tie five times, and Baker would take the last two for the set.

Set 5: Graceland 13 | Wildcats 15

Both teams would trade points early in the set; Graceland would show the first three-point score run to lead by one (12-11). Baker would take the last three points with a kill, ending the set with nine kills, 19 total attempts, and a hitting percentage of .316.
