Women's Volleyball Trip Up to No.16 Eagles
Fayette, Mo. - The Graceland University women's volleyball team competed against the Central Methodist (Mo.) Eagles and were taken down, 0-3 The Yellowjackets are now 7-14 on the season and 2-8 in conference.
Graceland (7-14; 2-8) vs. Eagles (10-5, 5-4)
Set 1: Graceland 12 | Eagles 25
The Eagles started the match on the offensive, gaining the early advantage, and holding their lead. The Yellowjackets would shrink their deficit to five points (7-12). The Eagles rattled off a 7-1 scoring run to extend their lead to ten to take the set.
Set 2: Graceland 10 | Eagles 25
Continuing in their groove, the Eagles got on the board first. A four-point scoring run started from an attack error and continued with a service ace by Addison Demesko to toe the set (6-6). A CMU retaliation of an 11-1 run and errors from the Yellowjackets, Central Methodist took the second set.
Set 3: Graceland 21 | Eagles 25
Graceland started the set working from behind to shrink their gap. A kill from Brenna Crabtree gave the Yellowjackets the advantage, closing their deficit to three points (14-17). The Eagles were able to hold on for the remainder of the set, taking the victory.
