Women’s Volleyball Bit by Wildcats

 

Canton, Mo.- The Graceland University women's volleyball team traveled tonight to take on the Culver-Stockton (Mo,) Wildcats. They are now 5-9 on the season and are 0-3 in conference play.

 

Graceland (5-9, 0-3) vs. Wildcats (7-4, 3-3)

Set 1: Graceland 25 | Wildcats 23

The Wildcats were able to claim the first six of ten points. The Yellowjackets were able to take the lead 13-12 with an attack error. Culver-Stockton retaliated with a four-point scoring run to take the lead (17-19). Both teams fought to end the set; Graceland took the set with a kill from Allison Long and an attack error made by the Wildcats.

Set 2: Graceland 25 | Wildcats 20

The Yellowjackets came out hot, taking the early lead of 13-3. Graceland continued to increase their lead. The Wildcats chipped away at their deficit. With a late in the set scoring run of five-points, a kill from Megan Janok ended the run and the set.

Set 3: Graceland 19 | Wildcats 25

The Wildcats started the set aggressive, finding a four-point scoring run (4-7). Graceland answered to close the gap to two points. Late in the half, the Wildcats seized four of the final five points to take the set.

Set 4: Graceland 14 | Wildcats 25

Culver Stockton continues their play rushing to a nine-point lead (5-14). The Yellowjackets fought to close the gap, but the Wildcats ended the set by gaining the last seven of ten points.

Set 5: Graceland 8 | Wildcats 15

Culver-Stockton took the advantage early, and Graceland retaliated with a four-point scoring run to tie. Not budging their fight, the Wildcats take the match.

The YellowJackets will take back to their home court on September 16th to take on the Mount Mercy (Iowa) Mustangs at 7:00 pm in the Morden Center.
