Women ‘s Volleyball Drops Match to Evangel
Lamoni, Iowa - The Graceland University women's volleyball team played host to the Evangel (Mo.) Valor. The Yellowjackets fell to the Valor in three sets. They move to 5-8 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.
Graceland (5-8; 0-2) vs. Valor (7-7; 2-1)
Set 1: Graceland 17 | Valor 25
The Yellowjackets took an early lead off the gate, with a 10-7 lead. The Valor answered with a scoring run of four to tie (12-12). Evangel continued to play offensively, taking the last eight of ten points and claiming the set.
Set 2: Graceland 17 | Valor 25
The Valor came out hot to create a deficit of nine points (10-1). The Yellowjackets fought to close the gap, but the Valor pushed to take the second set.
Set 3: Graceland 22 | Valor 25
Both teams came out of the gate on fire, trading the lead back and forth. The Yellowjackets Arissa Carpenter hauled a four-point scoring run late in the third set with a kill from Megan Janok. The Valor did not stop their pressure and seized the last set.
