Point Lookout, Mo. -  The Graceland University women's volleyball team kicked off their season at the College of the Ozarks. The YellowJackets end the doubleheader by falling short to the Bobcats and Fighting bees. The YellowJackets are now 0-2 on the season.

 

Graceland (0-1) vs. Bobcats (1-0)

Set 1: Graceland 20 | Bobcats 25

The Bobcats raced to a 7-1 lead, but the YellowJackets cut their deficit to 15-14. Graceland fought point per point; near the end of the match, the Bobcats answered with a five-point run to take the set.

Set 2: Graceland 17 | Bobcats 25

The YellowJackets came out on fire, taking the advantage with a four-point run. The lead changed three times as the Bobcats fought for the flow Graceland created. The YellowJackets got within one point of the Bobcats (10-9), but the Bobcats pushed their run to take the set.

Set 3: Graceland 15 | Bobcats 25

The two teams were evenly matched in set two, as Graceland held the advantage (5-4) before the Bobcats answered back with a 7-1 run to take the lead and the set.

Graceland (0-2) vs. Fighting Bees (3-0)

Set 1: Graceland 20 | Fighting Bees 25

The YellowJackets came out strong to start the match, scoring first. With a block by Arissa Carpenter and Rakenzy Pryor, Graceland hauled the Fighting Bees first scoring run. The Yellowjackets lead 14-10, and St. Ambrose produced four service aces to take the lead. Graceland tied the match (19-19); however, the Fighting Bees closed the set by scoring the final five points to take the set.

Set 2: Graceland 16 | Fighting Bees 25

The two teams continued to match each other in the second set. The Fighting Bees would close the set by not allowing the gap to close below six points, the last 10 points of the match, and a 2-0 lead.

Set 3: Graceland 25 | Fighting Bees 23

Another strong start for the YellowJackets was key in set three. With the advantage of the rally, Graceland held the edge into the half of the match (15-12). St. Ambrose fought for the lead and tied five times with the YellowJackets. With their final run, the Fighting Bees tied at 23-23, but the YellowJackets scored the last two points.

Set 4: Graceland 16 | Fighting Bees 25

St. Ambrose carried that momentum into set four, racing to a quick 8-2 lead. The YellowJackets got back to within three points (13-10), but that was as close as they would get as the Fighting Bees took the set, 16-25.
