Women's Basketball Taken Down by Mount Mercy

Lamoni, Iowa - The Graceland University Women's Basketball team took on the Mount Mercy University Mustangs. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Mustangs, 91-74 Moving to 9-13 on the season and 7-11 in the Heart

Graceland (9-13, 7-11) | Mount Mercy (14-7, 12-6)
Quarter 1: Graceland 15 | Mount Mercy 18
Trinity Greenwood would open the game with a layup (8-minute mark). The Mustangs would answer to push a seven-point jump (7-2); Avery Walker-Henry would break their run with a layup, followed by a Sophia Rodriguez jumper (7-6). The Yellowjackets would add six points with baskets from Greenwood, Heaven Mbaruk and Vegas Camacho (12-10). Mount Mercy would pull ahead to lead by three (18-15).

Quarter 2: Graceland 17 | Mount Mercy 19
The Mustangs would open the second quarter (21-15); Claudinae hurt would answer with a layup. Mount Mercy would retaliate by adding five points (26-17). Avery Walker-Henry would put up a layup, and Trinity Greenwood and Camry Dillie would follow to add a collective four points and close their deficit to three points (28-25). Sophia Rodriguez would drain a three to even the score 30-30. The Mustangs put up seven and would lead by five heading into halftime, 37-32.

Quarter 3: Graceland 26 | Mount Mercy 28
Bryanna Griffiths would put up six points in just over two minutes of play (43-38). The Mustangs would push two to lead by 11 points. Heaven Mbaruk and Griffiths would break the run (49-42). Both teams would trade points, and Graceland would see baskets from Vegas Camacho, Camry Dillie, and Trinity Greenwood. The Mustangs would hold their advantage heading into the final quarter, 65-58.

Quarter 4: Graceland 16 | Mount Mercy 26
The Mustangs would pull an offensive front and extend their lead. Graceland would get baskets from Claudinae Hurt, Bryanna Griffiths, Trinity Greenwood, and Heaven Mbaruk. Mount Mercy would hold their advantage and end the game with a score of 91-74.
