Women’s Basketball Stopped by Culver-Stockton

Canton, Mo. - The Graceland University Women's Basketball team took on the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Wildcats, 59-57. Moving to 3-6 on the season and 1-4 in the Heart

Graceland (3-6; 1-4) | Clarke (4-5; 3-2)
Quarter 1: Graceland 17 | Culver-Stockton 11
The Wildcats would open the game with a 6-0 lead; Avery Walker-Henry would sink a three to break the run. Kymani Freeman's jumper and free throw would put the Yellowjackets in the lead. Graceland would extend their lead to 8 points from Heaven Mbaruk and Freeman. The Wildcats would close the first quarter with a layup (17-11).

Quarter 2: Graceland 17 | Culver-Stockton 16
A jumper by Alan Swift would push a Graceland seven-point jump; Avery Walker-Henry would sink a layup. Culver-Stockton would answer with their own five-point collection, closing their deficit to five-point (26-21). Camry Dillie would close the second quarter with a layup, and Graceland would lead 34-27.

Quarter 3: Graceland 7 | Culver-Stockton 12
Both teams would trade points. The Wildcats would work and even the score with under a minute to go (39-39). Alana Swift would put the Yellowjackets back ahead by two (41-39).

Quarter 4: Graceland 16 | Culver-Stockton 20
The Wildcats would even the score within the first minute of play and would add an eight-point jump to lead by six points (47-41). The Yellowjackets would work to close the gap; points would come from Trinity Greenwood, Kymani Freeman, and Alana Swift. Culver-Stockton would take the two-point victory from a final second free throw, 59-57.
