Softball Splits on Day Two at Tuscan Invitational Games

Tuscan, Ariz.– The Graceland University Softball team took on the Tuscan Invitational Games. The Yellowjackets would take the Mayville State University Comets and the Northwestern College Raiders. The Yellowjackets defeated the Comets in game one, 10-1 and fell in game two, 6-0 against the Raiders.

The Scoring – Game 1
T3 – The Yellowjackets would get on the board from an Aliyah Farrell hit; Kaitlyn Cook would score on the Comet error (GU: 1 | MSU: 0)
B3 – The Comets would bring in one run from a single to center field (GU: 1 | MSU: 1)
T4 – Rebecca Laire would bring in Paige Cooper (single) (GU: 2 | MSU: 1)
T5 – Jayda Gay (walk) would cross home plate from a wild pitch. Aliyah Farrell singled to left field to score Kaitlyn Cook (walk). Farrell and Corry Pickering would cross home from a Sammi Bradshaw double to center field. Bradshaw would take home from a wild pitch (GU: 7 | MSU: 1)
T6 – Corry Pickering would single to the pitcher and score Jayda Gay (reached on Comet error). Mayville wild pitches would bring Picking and Aliyah Farrell (walk) (GU: 10 | MSU: 1)

Game 2 Individual Leaders
Chloe Buckallew would start for the Yellowjackets and go 3.0 innings, facing 18 batters. Allison Rebling entered the games for 4.0 inning game and faced 15 batters with two strikeouts.
The Yellowjackets had three hits, led by Sammi Bradshaw, Paige Cooper and Charlee Peters.

The Softball team will continue at the Tuscan Invitational Games on Wednesday, March 6 when they take on the Concordia University Bulldogs and the Bria Cliff University Chargers. Game one is set for 10:00 am and games two set for 12:00 pm.
