Softball Ends the Day Even Against the Pride with Game Two Victory

Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University Softball team took on the Clarke University Pride in a doubleheader. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Pride in game one, 8-0 and stung the Pride in game two, 5-4.

The Scoring – Game 1
T1 – The Pride added three runs from back-to-back singles (GU: 0 | CU: 3)
T3 – One Clarke run would cross the plate on a single up the middle (GU: 0 | CU: 4)
T4 – A Pride run would score on a homerun to center field (GU: 0 | CU: 5)
T6 – Clarke would cap their scoring by adding three runs; a homerun and single would bring the runs in (GU: 0 | CU: 8)

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Samantha Bradshaw stepped to the mound for 3.1 innings, faced 18 batters and had five strikeouts. Makensey Burghart came in a 2.0 innings game and faced nine batters. Bre Small went in to close 0.2 innings and faced four batters.
The Yellowjackets had one hit, led by Charlee Peters.

T3 – The Pride would get on the board first, adding one form a single to center field (GU: 0 | CU: 1)
B3 – Samantha Bradshaw would cross the plate on a Clarke wild pitch (GU: 1 | CU: 1)
B4 – Graceland put up one run from a Paige Cooper single to left field; Morina Goodman scored (GU: 2 | CU: 1)
T6 – A ground out would bring in one Pride run (GU: 2 | CU: 2)
B6 – The Yellowjackets would take the lead by adding three runs; a Samantha Bradshaw homerun over the left field would score Paige Cooper. Makenna Goldizen would score from a Taylor Beane double (GU: 5 | CU: 2)
