Softball Evened with the Valor

Lamoni, Iowa. – The Graceland University Softball team took on the Evangel University Valor in their conference opener. The Yellowjackets fell to the Valor in game one after nine innings, 6-2. Graceland shut out Evangel 7-6 in game two.

B1 – The Yellowjacket's Paige Cooper crossed the plate from a Ries Wilson drilled lined out to left field (GU: 1 | EU: 0)
T4 – Back-to-back Valor home runs would add two runs (GU: 1 | EU: 2)
B6 – A Ries Wilson solo homerun over the centerfield fence would help even the score (GU: 2 | EU: 2)
T9 – The Valor would cap their scoring by adding four runs from a solo home run and a three-run homer (GU: 2 | EU: 6)

B2 – The Yellowjackets would score four runs from a Marissa Buckallew single down the right-field line to bring in Morina Goodman and Jayda Gay. Taylor Beane would cross the plate from the drilled leftfield line single from Grace Francis. Samantha Bradshaw would push Buckallew home with a single to left field (GU: 4 | EU: 4)
B3 – A two-run homerun over the center field by Marissa Buckaleew would score Morina Goodman, and a solo home run over left-center by Paige Cooper (GU: 7 | EU: 4)
T7 – The Valor would close the gap to add one from a two-run homerun (GU: 7 | EU: 6)
