Upgrades Coming to Graceland Rodeo Facilities

LAMONI - Facility upgrades are on the way for the newly introduced Graceland University rodeo program.

Recently, rafters were set in a new stall barn at the Lamoni fairgrounds, which will be frequently used by the rodeo team. The building will have room for 45 stalls and additional covered training facilities.

Graceland Rodeo head coach Fenton Nelsen commented, "The installation of the stall barn has been a great project. There have been many upgrades to the fairgrounds to make it a better facility for the rodeo team and surrounding community organizations."

The stalls will be 10' by 12', offering horses plenty of room. The barn will contain new restroom facilities, complete with showers, and there will be a new wash bay on the grounds for horses and cattle. Once the stall barn is finished, the old facility will be used to store hay for Graceland student-athletes' horses while school is in session. Additional improvements include new tile and sand for the arena and new cattle fencing.

The Graceland rodeo team just completed their inaugural season this fall. The team competed in three rodeos: North Platte, Nebraska; Fort Dodge, Iowa; and Dickinson, North Dakota.
