Bio

Shawn Beeson enters his third year as Assistant Coach at Graceland University. Shawn began his coaching career after a very successful collegiate wrestling career at GU.

During his two seasons coaching, Beeson made a significant contribution to the Graceland Wrestling program including, but not limited to:

  • 2021 Scholar National Championship Team (best GPA nationally)
  • Individual National Champion
  • 4 NAIA All-Americans, 10 NAIA National Qualifiers, 1 Conference Champion
  • First Top 10 team finish in the country in over 30 years (9th)
  • 6 NWCA All-Academic Team Individual Selections
  • 2 Graceland Male Athlete of the Year honors

During his wrestling career, Shawn became a 3x All-American medaling twice for Graceland University and once for Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. Shawn had a stellar career at Graceland finishing 4th in the nation twice at 285lbs. In just two short years, Shawn collected 54 wins in the Graceland gold and blue and was selected for multiple awards including Graceland Male Athlete of the Year and Graceland Wrestling Most Valuable.

Prior to GU, Shawn competed at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College where he was an All-American, finishing 4thin NJCAA and was a member of the 2016 NJCAA National Championship team.

Prior to NEO, Shawn attended Monett High School where he became a Missouri State Medalist.

Shawn is originally from Monett, MO and currently resides in Lamoni, Iowa with his son Emmitt.
