Wrestling Stopped William Penn

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Graceland University Wrestling team would travel to take on the William Penn University Statesmen. The Yellowjackets defeated the Statesmen, 28-15 and move to 3-3 on the season.

First up for the Yellowjackets in the 125 lbs weight class, Robert Albert took on the Statesmen Brendan Nantz. Albert would take the first match by take down (2:33), starting the contest at 6-0.

In the following weight class, 133 lbs, Riley Harger (GU) would step to the mat against Lane Scorpil (WP). The Statesmen's Scprpil would take the class by decision (8-4). The score 6-3.

Graceland's Ryan Anderson would follow with his own decision (9-4) taking down William Sabri Sino in the 141-weight class. The score is now 9-3.

In the 149lbs weight class, Jackson Wenberg (GU) would take on Trent Evans (WP). Wenberg would take the class by major decisions (10-1). The score now 13-3.

The following weight class, 157 lbs, would feature Juan Lopez (GU) and Braden Peglow (WP). Lopez would take the class by pin (3:00). The score now 19-3.

In the 165 lbs weight class, Graceland's Jett Nelson would follow next and take on William Penn's Cameron Hargrove. The match would end in a William Penn decision (12-5). The score now 19-5.

William Penn would take the 174lbs weight class by decision in overtime (4-1) from the match up of Joseph Teguia (GU) and Branson Bottorff (WP). The score 19-9.

In the following weight class, 184lbs, KJ Fry (GU) would take the class over Kaden Kaiser (WP) by pin (1:01). The score now 25-9.

William Penn's Jesse Schwery would take the 197 lbs weight class by forfeit. The score now 25-15.

The final weight class of the night featured Graceland's Anthony Yancey and William Penn's Isaac Boucher. Yancey would take the class by decisions (7-6). The Yellowjackets would take the 28-15 victory.
