Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University Wrestling team hosted the Central Methodist University Eagles. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Eagles, 30-16 and move to 2-3 on the season.

Starting the Yellowjackets off for the night with an exhibition in the 165lbs weight class between Graceland's Mark Leija and Central Methodist Cody Hughes. Hughes would take the match 3-1.

First up for the Yellowjackets in the 125 lbs weight class, Denias Johnson took on the Eagles Colton King. King would take the first match by pin (first period 1:38), starting the contest at 6-0.

In the following weight class, 133 lbs, TJ Smith (GU) would step to the mat against Konnor Wright (CMU). The Yellowjackets would get their first pin (second period 00:34) of the night by Smith, the score even 6-6.

Graceland's Jackson Wenberg would follow with his own pin (first period 1:34) taking down Central Methodist's Gavin Shoush in the 141-weight class. The score is now 12-6.

In the 149lbs weight class, Ryan Anderson (GU) would take on Lukas Eagle (CMU). Anderson would take the class by major decisions (16-7). The score now 16-6.

The following weight class, 157 lbs, would feature Juan Lopez (GU) and Donald Griffin (CMU). Griffin would take the class by decision (7-2). The score now 16-9.

In the 165 lbs weight class, Graceland's Jett Nelson would follow next and take on Central Methodist's Roman Garcia. The match would end in a Central Methodist pin (first period 1:05). The score now 22-6.

Central Methodist would take the 174lbs weight class btt decision (8-2) from the match up of Jeraimiah Nyberg (GU) and Sincere Hall-Osbourne (CMU). The score shifts and the Eagles lead 18-16.

In the following weight class, 184lbs, Hayden Burks (CMU) would take the class over Joseph Teguia (GU) by pin (third period 1:07). The score now 18-16

At the 197 lbs weight class, John Schuttler (GU) would take on Cameron Cornman (CMU). Corman would take the class by decision. The score now 28-16.

The final weight class of the night featured Graceland's Sam Fleming and Central Methodist's Garine Gibson. Gibson would take the class in overtime by decisions (3-2). The Eagles would take the 30-16 victory.

The Yellowjackets will be back in the new year on January, 6 when they traavel to Pella, Iowa to take on the Central Under Armour Invitational. Tournament start is set for 10:00 am.
