Men’s Volleyball is Victorious on Senior Day

Lamoni, Iowa. – The Graceland University Men's Volleyball team took on the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats. The Yellowjackets defeated the Wildcats, 3-0. Moving to 5-19 on the season and are 3-14 in the Heart.

Set 1: Graceland 25 | Culver-Stockton 18
Graceland would even the score at 4-4 with a kill from Sam Johnson. The Wildcats would respond with a 7-1 run (11-5). Graceland would work a five-point jump under the service of Roy Rossello to close the gap to one point (11-10); Malakai Christian (kill) would contribute. Moments later, a kill from Sonny Tofi and a block by Christian would even the score and add an advantage (14-13). Both teams would trade points. The Yellowjackets would work an 11-4-point jump to secure set one; points from Thomas Weseloh (kills) and Johnson (kills), and blocks by Hansen Salausa-Kaawa and Johnson, Christian and Tofi, Mana Kahoopii and Christian.

Set 2: Graceland 25 | Culver-Stockton 18
The Yellowjackets would continue their offensive push to open with a 3-0 lead, a block by Thomas Weseloh and Malakai Christian, and a kill by Weseloh. Graceland would work a 16-9 lead, with kills from Isaac Elliott, Hansen Salausa-Kaawa, Sean Malaki, Christian, Sonny Tofi, and Sam Johnson and blocks from Christian. The Wildcats would find a three-point jump to close their deficit to four points, and a kill from Tofi would break the momentum. The Yellowjackets would hold their advantage and take set two.

Set 3: Graceland 25 | Culver-Stockton 21
Both teams would come out competitive to trade points. Late in the set, Graceland would get the first large lead started by a Malakai Christian kill, followed by Thomas Weseloh (kill) and a Ryan Schneider ace. Graceland would see back-to-back kills from Logan Book to hold a two-point lead. Culver-Stockton would find three points to close the gap to one point. Hansen Salausa-Kaawa gave Graceland the set point with a kill, and Thomas Weseloh ended the match with a kill.
