Men’s Volleyball Caged by William Penn

Lamoni, Iowa. – The Graceland University Men's Volleyball team took on the William Penn University Statesmen. The Yellowjackets defeated by the Wildcats, 3-0. Moving to 3-12 on the season and are 1-8 in the Heart.

Set 1: Graceland 14 | William Penn 25
Malakai Christian would open the set with a kill from Isaac Elliott. William Penn would answer to create a 9-4 lead. Graceland would close the deficit to two points (9-7), points from a Logan Book ace and a Christian kill. The Statesmen would respond with a nine-point jump and hold their lead to take set one.

Set 2: Graceland 13 | William Penn 25
The Statesmen pushed their offensive play to take the lead. Graceland saw points from Malakai Christian (ace and block), Isaac Elliott (block), Hansen Salausa-Kaawa (two kills and two blocks), Sam Johnson (kill), and Thomas Weseloh (kill). William Penn held their lead to take the second set.

Set 3: Graceland 22 | William Penn 25
Graceland would come out hot, keeping the score even. The Yellowjackets would retake the lead with a three-point jump (9-8), a kill by Sam Johnson and an Andrew Cziep ace. The Yellowjackets would push a three-point jump to take a one-point lead (14-13), kills by Hansen Salausa-Kaawa and Thomas Weseloh. The Statesmen created space and would snatch five of the remaining six points to take the set.
