Men’s Volleyball Edged Out by Grand View in Fourth Set Match
Des Moines, Iowa – The Graceland University Men's Volleyball team took Grand View University Vikings. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Vikings, 3-1. Moving to 2-10 on the season and are 0-6 in the Heart.
Set 1: Graceland 15 | Grand View 25
Graceland would get a three-point hop on Grand View, with points from Sam Johnson (kill) and Thomas Weseloh (ace). The Vikings would answer for a 7-1 run; Isaac Elliott would pause the run with a kill. The Yellowjackets would have points from Elliott, Malakai Christian, Hansen Salausa-Kaawa (Block), and Andrew Cziep. The Vikings would hold their lead to take set one.
Set 2: Graceland 13 | Grand View 25
Graceland trailed to start, holding close behind kills from Thomas Weseloh, Isaac Elliott, Malakai Christian, and Sonny Tofi. Grand View added a six-point jump to extend its lead. Their run was broken by a Christian kill. The Yellowjackets put four points on the board from Andrew Cziep, Elliott, and a Christian block. The Vikings held their lead for the second set.
Set 3: Graceland 25 | Grand View 22
A kill by Aiden Martinez would open the third set. Both teams would trade points. A Malakai Christian kill would push a Yellowjacket a 7-3-point jump, and a Christian ace would contribute. Graceland would add to their advantage and hold their lead over Grand View. A kill by Thomas Weseloh would end the third set for the Yellowjackets.
Set 4: Graceland 19 | Grand View 25
Both teams would stay neck-and-neck. Graceland would find the first lead from a Thomas Weseloh (two-kills) and a Benedikt Zauner ace. Later, Grand View would answer with their own three-point jump to take the lead (19-16). The Vikings would snatch the remaining points for the fourth set.
