Men’s Volleyball Clipped by No. 2 Park

Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University Men's Volleyball team took on the No. 2 Park University Pirates. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Pirates, 3-0. Moving to 2-9 on the season and are 0-5 in the Heart.

Set 1: Graceland 17 | Park 25
Both teams would open and trade points. The Pirates would find the first run with a four-point jump (13-9) and blocks from Hansen Salausa-Kaawa and Malakai Christian would break the run. Thomas Weseloh and Isaac Elliott would close the gap to two points (17-15), and Sam Johnson would keep the two-point deficit with a solo block. Park would answer to put up six points for set one.

Set 2: Graceland 22 | Park 25
Park would open to lead 5-1, and a kill from Sam Johnson would break the run. The Pirates would answer to create a 16-7 lead. Thomas Weseloh would kill to start a Yellowjacket Andrew Cziep serve and push a five-point run to close the gap to three points; kills from Isaac Elliott, blocks from Hansen Salausa-Kaawa and Elliott, and two Cziep aces. Graceland would hold Park at set point and shrink the gap to two points with a Johnson kill. Park would end the set with a kill.

Set 3: Graceland 16 | Park 25
Park would lead to start with a 14-5 score; Graceland would see kills from Thomas Weseloh, Malakai Christian, Sam Johnson and Isaac Elliott. The Yellowjakctes would answer with a 6-2 run, closing the deficit to five points, blocks by Hansen Salausa-Kaawa and Johnson kills from Salausa-Kaawa and Weseloh. Park would hold their lead and take the third set.
