Men’s Volleyball Halted by Missouri Baptist

Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University Men's Volleyball team took on the Missouri Baptist University Spartans. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Spartans, 3-0. Moving to 2-8 on the season and are 0-4 in the Heart.

Set 1: Graceland 23 | Missouri Baptist 25
The Spartans would come out hot to push a 5-1 lead. The gap would close to two points from a Sonny Tofi kill. The Yellowjackets should push a three-point run to close the deficit to one point, with a Sam Johnson kill and a double block by Johnson and Hansen Salausa-Kaawa. Graceland would take the lead from a 4-1 run, kills from Isaac Elliott, Johnson and Malakai Christian, and a triple block by Salausa-Kaawa, Johnson and Christian. Missouri Baptist would retake the lead and snatch four of the remaining six points.

Set 2: Graceland 19 | Missouri Baptist 25
Both teams would trade points. A 4-2 run would give the Spartans the edge and the lead (13-11), and a kill from Isaac Elliott would break the run. A late three-point jump would push Missouri Baptist to a five-point lead. They would hold their advantage for the second set.

Set 3: Graceland 10 | Missouri Baptist 25
Missouri Baptist would push a 6-0 run to lead by eight points; they would grow their advantage. Late in the set, their run would be broken by a Sonny Tofi kill. The Spartans responded to take the remaining four points.
