Men’s Volleyball Defeated by Mount Mercy

Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University Men's Volleyball team took on the Mount Mercy University Mustangs. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Mustangs, 3-0. Moving to 2-7 on the season and are 0-3 in the Heart.

Set 1: Graceland 17 | Mount Mercy 25
Mount Mercy got on the board fast to pull a 3-0 lead; a kill from Malakai Christian would break the run. The Mustangs would add a four-point jump, and Graceland would break the run with a kill from Sonny Tofi. Graceland would push a late three-point run with kills from Isaac Elliott (kill) and Thomas Weseloh (two kills). Mount Mercy would hold their lead to take set one.

Set 2: Graceland 15 | Mount Mercy 25
The Mustangs would create an advantage early. Graceland would have points from Sam Johnson, Sonny Tofi, and Thomas Weseloh. Late in the set, the Yellowjackets would add a three-point run from back-to-back kills from Mana Mana Kahoopii and a Johnson ace. The Mustangs would hold their lead for set two.

Set 3: Graceland 17 | Mount Mercy 25
Graceland would close their deficit to two points from an Isaac Elliott kill (8-6). Mount Mercy would respond with a 7-3 run (15-9). The Yellowjackets would work with a Thomas Weseloh kill followed by an ace. The Mustangs would snatch the remaining two points to take the third set.
