Men’s Volleyball Defeated in Fourth Set by the Braves.
Ottawa, Kan. – The Graceland University Men's Volleyball were defeated by the Ottawa University Braves in the fourth set, 3-1. The Yellowjackets move to 5-13 on the season and 2-11 in conference play.
Graceland (5-13; 2-11) vs. Ottawa (6-9)
Set 1: Graceland 19 | Ottawa 25
The Braves would create a three-point lead early (2-5) and found the first scoring run of three to pull a lead of five points (10-15). The run would be broken by a kill from Rylon Raczka, which Josh Santana dished out. The Yellowjackets would work to close the gap, but Ottawa would reach 25 points.
Set 2: Graceland 18 | Ottawa 25
The Yellowjackets would come out to find the first run to lead by two (3-1); a Kill and an ace from Nicodemus Elliott and a kill by Jeremiah Ta'amu would contribute. The Braves would close the gap and take the lead with a 4-0 run (13-15). Graceland would close their deficit to two points with a kill from Ta'amu. Ottawa would retaliate with a 4-0 run (17-23) and take the second set.
Set 3: Graceland 25 | Ottawa 18
The Yellowjackets came out hot to take the lead; a 4-0 run would extend their advantage to six (9-3). The run would be broken by a Braves kill; Graceland would retaliate to pull their lead to nine (13-4). Kills from Nicodemus Elliott and Jeremiah Ta'amu would contribute. Ottawa would work for a 5-1 scoring run (23-18); the run was split by N. Elliott and broken by Jeremiah Ta'amu. N. Elliott would end the third set with an ace.
Set 4: Graceland 16 | Ottawa 25
Both teams traded points. The Braves would pull a 3-0 run to take the lead (7-10); Jeremiah Ta'amu would break the run, and a kill from Sonny Tofi would bring the Yellowjacket's deficit to one point (9-10). A late 7-0 Ottawa run would pull their advantage to eight (15-23) and the set.
