Men's Volleyball Stung the Mustangs in the Fifth Set

Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University Men's Volleyball took down the Morningside University Mustangs, 3-2. The Yellowjackets move to 5-12 on the season and 2-11 in conference play.

Graceland (5-12; 2-11) vs. Morningside (7-9; 5-3)
Set 1: Graceland 23 | Morningside 25
Both teams would push to take the lead. The Yellowjackets would find some room with a 5-1 scoring run (10-6). The Mustangs would answer to close the gap to one point (17-16). Back-to-back kills from Nicodemus Elliott, and Isaac Elliott would add a lead of three (19-16). Morningside would work a 3-0 run to tie (20-20); the run would be interrupted by N. Elliott. The Mustangs would take four of the remaining five points for the set.
Set 2: Graceland 25 | Morningside 23
Both teams would fight for the lead, trading points. The Yellowjackets would create space with a four-point jump (18-13), Devan Ramsey's ace, and a kill from Nicodemus Elliott contributed. The Mustangs would respond with their own 7-0 scoring run (19-21); N. Elliott would stop the run, and a kill from Jeremiah Ta'amu would end the set.
Set 3: Graceland 25 | Morningside 24
Both teams continued the same groove of trading points. A 3-0 run would push the Yellowjackets to lead by three (16-13); a kill from Malakai Christian would start the run. Late in the set, a kill from Mana Kahoopii and blocks from Kahoopii and Jackson Price would put the Yellowjackets ahead by two points (21-19). The set would set with a Graceland Sonny Tofi kill.
Set 4: Graceland 19 | Morningside 25
The Mustangs would start with a 7-1 scoring run to lead by five (6-11). Graceland would work to put up a 3-0 run (11-14); Sonny Tofi would contribute with a kill. Morningside would snatch the remaining three points of the set.
Set 5: Graceland 16 | Morningside 14
Both continued to trade points. The Yellowjackets would get a lead of two from a Nicodemus Elliott kill (10-8). A Jeremiah Ta'amu kill, and ace would pull the Graceland advantage to set point (14-11). The Mustangs would answer with a three-point jump to even the score (14-14). Sonny Tofi would give set point to the Yellowjackets, and a block from Isaac Elliott would give them victory.
