Men's Volleyball Halted by the Vikings
Des Moines, Iowa – The Graceland University Men's Volleyball took on the No. 12 Grand View University Vikings and were defeated 3-0. The Yellowjackets move to 4-12 on the season and 2-11 in conference play.
Graceland (4-12; 2-11) vs. Grand View (15-5; 11-4)
Set 1: Graceland 23 | Grand View 25
The Vikings were the first to create a lead with a 5-1 scoring run (7-12). The Yellowjackets would retaliate their own 5-1 scoring run to tie the set (15-15); kills from Nicodemus Elliott and Jeremiah Ta'amu and blocks from Will Simmers and Rylon Raczka would contribute. Blocks from Will Simmers and Isaac Elliott would close the Yellowjacket's deficit to one point. A kill from the Vikings would close set one.
Set 2: Graceland 18 | Grand View 25
Both teams would start with the same groove. Grand View would pull ahead by two points. A kill from Nicodemus Elliott would close the gap to one point (7-8). A kill from Malakai Christian would close the gap to one and push the Yellowjackets for three points run (11-10). Both teams would trade points staying within two points. The Vikings would find a four-point score jump to take the lead (16-22). Grand View would take three of the remaining five for the second set.
Set 3: Graceland 20 | Grand View 25
The Yellowjackets would start with a 3-0 scoring run to take the first lead (4-3). The Vikings would respond to out up four points to lead by three (4-7); the run would be stopped by a kill from Jeremiah Ta'amu and push Graceland for a 5-1 run (9-8); blocks by Will Simmers and Isaac Elliott, and a kill by Simmerswould contribute. Both teams would go point for point. The Vikings would find a late 5-1 run (18-23) and take the remaining two points.
