Men's Volleyball Takes Down Culver-Stockton

Canton, Mo. – The Graceland University Men's Volleyball took on the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats and defeated the Wildcats 3-1. The Yellowjackets move to 4-10 on the season and 2-8 in conference play.

Graceland (4-10; 2-8) vs. Culver-Stockton (2-14; 1-10)
Set 1: Graceland 25| Culver-Stockton 19
The Yellowjackets came out on fire to push an early 5-2 lead; kills from Nicodemus Elliott and Sonny Tofi contributed. The Wildcats would close their gap to even the score (6-6); a kill by Rylon Raczka would push the Yellowjackets to extend their lead (9-6). Both teams would trade scoring runs. Culver-Stockton would close the gap to one point (17-16), and Graceland would snatch five of the remaining six points. Isaac Elliott would block a Wildcats attack to take the first set.
Set 2: Graceland 16| Culver-Stockton 25
The Wildcats would start the set on the offensive and created an early gap (6-11). Graceland would work a 4-1 scoring run to pull their deficit to four points (10-14). A 4-0 score jump would stretch the Wildcat advantage to nine, and they would hold their lead for the set.
Set 3: Graceland 25 | Culver-Stockton 16
Both teams would go point for point. The Yellowjackets would take the first lead with a score 9-2 scoring run to lead by eight (16-9); Nicodemus Elliott, Jackson Price, Jeremiah Ta'amu, Josh Santana, and Sonny Tofi would contribute. Culver-Stockton would close their deficit to five, but the Yellowjackets would continue their groove to take the third set from back-to-back service aces from Price.
Set 4: Graceland 25 | Culver-Stockton 19
Both teams started the fourth set competitively, pushing to take the lead. A kill by Jeremiah Ta'amu would aid in the Yellowjackets point collection (16-12). Graceland would continue their offensive groove to take six of the remaining nine points for the win; blocks by Jackson Price and Ta'amu and kills by Rylon Raczka would contribute.
