Men's Volleyball Falls to No. 14 William Penn

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Graceland University Men's Volleyball were taken down by the No. 14 William Penn University Statesmen, 0-3. The Yellowjackets move to 1-6 on the season and are 1-5 in conference play.

Graceland (1-6; 1-5) vs. William Penn (5-5; 4-3)
Set 1: Graceland 13 | William Penn 25
Both teams came out trading point for point; the Statesmen created a two-point lead, and the Yellowjackets trailed (8-10). William Penn found a four-point run to build a five-point lead (10-15). A kill from Nicodemus Elliott, dished out by Sean Malaki, would close the gap to four (11-16). The Statesmen would answer with a six-point jump to pull to set point, and a kill would give them set one.
Set 2: Graceland 15 | William Penn 25
William Penn started the set out with a 4-1 lead; Jeremiah Ta'amu Perifanos's kill would break the run, and later a kill by Nicodemus Elliott would break a second-chance run for the Statesmen. William Penn answered to create a five-point jump and a seven-point lead (6-13). William Penn would work to take a run, but the Yellowjackets would cut them short; Ta'amu Perifanos and Isaac Elliott would contribute. The Statesmen would take set two.
Set 3: Graceland 23 | William Penn 25
Graceland would come out of the second set firing; they would take the lead with a 9-1 run (16-10). Blocks from Jeremiah Ta'amu Perifanos and Malakai Christian, kills from Isaac Elliott and Rylon Raczka, and service aces would contribute. The Yellowjackets would find 20 points first from an I. Elliott kill. The Statesmen would slowly close their deficit and tie at 22-22 and 23-23. William Penn would find the third set for the sweep.
