Men's Volleyball Stings the Wildcats
Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University Men's Volleyball defeated the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats, 3-0. The Yellowjackets move to 1-5 on the season and are 1-4 in conference play.
Graceland (1-5; 1-4) vs. Culver-Stockton (0-7; 0-3)
Set 1: Graceland 25 | Culver-Stockton 16
The Wildcats were able to get on the board first and created their advantage of three (3-6). The Yellowjackets would answer with a 9-0 run (11-6); a Kill by Issac Elliott would put the ball into Josh Santana, a run with seven serves. The Wildcats would work to close their gap and would to five points. Kills from Jeremiah Ta'amu Perifanos, Nicodemus Elliott, Malakai Christian and Will Simmers in the last ten points of play would put the Yellowjackets up one set.
Set 2: Graceland 25 | Culver-Stockton 21
Both teams came out competitive in the second set. Culver-Stockton, we take the first lead, 3-5. The Yellowjackets would work to take the lead. The score would even out seven times. The Yellowjackets would take the edge and the lead by two with a kill from Rylon Raczka dished out by Sean Malaki. Graceland would snatch five of the last seven points, taking the second set.
Set 3: Graceland 25 | Culver-Stockton 19
The third set started with neither giving the other the edge, and the score stayed even. A kill from Rylon Raczka from Jeremiah Ta'amu Perifanos would allow the Yellowjackets a 4-0 scoring run to get the advantage (11-7). The Wildcat would try and close their deficit, but Graceland would hold their offensive play. A Raczka kill would produce a late score run, and a block assist by Will Simmers, and Issac Elliott would give Graceland the set point. A service ace from Ta'amu Perifanos would end the third set for a Graceland sweep.
