Men's Volleyball Falls to the Pride
Dubuque, Iowa – The Graceland University Men's Volleyball was defeat by the Clarke (Iowa) University Pride, 0-3. The Yellowjackets move to 0-4 on the season and are 0-3 in conference play.
Graceland (0-4; 0-3) vs. Clarke (2-4; 1-2)
Set 1: Graceland 14 | Clarke 25
Both teams started competitive trading points. The Prides was the first to get to a lead with a 4-0 scoring run (2-6). The Yellowjackets would tie the score with a kill from Issac Elliott (7-7). Clarke would answer and get to 20 points first with a run of 14-2 points. Kills from Jeremiah Ta'amu Perifanos and Sam Johnson would break the Pride run (11-21). Clarke would hold their lead and take set one.
Set 2: Graceland 21 | Clarke 25
The Yellowjackets came out on fire, pulling an early 5-1 lead. The Pride would tie the score at 11-11. A kill from Sonny Tofi would push Graceland for a 5-1 collection and lead by five (16-11). The Pride was able to cash in six points to take the lead by one (20-21); Graceland's Will Simmers would bring the score to even. Clarke would answer and take the remaining points of the second set.
Set 3: Graceland 17 | Clarke 25
Clarke would create the first lead of the third set, to lead by three 4-7. Kills from Sean Malaki and Rylon Raczka would bring the Yellowjacket deficit to one (6-7). A Clarke run of 6-1 would get their advantage to six points (9-15). Both teams would continue to work, and Graceland would close the gap to four from Issac Elliott's kill set up by Jeremiah Ta'amu Perifanos (12-16). Clarke would hold their lead and take the third set.
