Men’s Basketball Caged Culver-Stockton

Lamoni, Iowa - The Graceland University Men's Basketball team took on the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats. The Yellowjackets defeated the Wildcats, 75-66. Graceland move to 19-8 and are 16-7 in the conference.

Half 1: Graceland 34 | Culver-Stockton 34
The Wildcats would get on the board first from the arches. Aleksa Markovic and Patrick Fisher would drain baskets from beyond the arches to lead by two points (6-4). Both teams would trade points. Markovic would sink a layup and push the Yellowjackets to a 14-point run (25-13), baskets from Amitai Afenjar (four points), Carter Brown (three points) and Austin Braun (four points). Culver-Stockton would answer with an eight-point jump (25-22). Carson Brown from the arches would break the run (28-22). With under a minute left in play, the Wildcats would close their gap and even the score heading into halftime, 34-34.

Half 2: Graceland 41 | Culver-Stockton 32
Culver would open with seven points to take the lead (39-34), and an Akeen Woods layup would break the run (41-37). At the 12-minute mark, Amitai Afenjar would sink a layup, and Graceland followed with a six-point jump; Austin Braun and Aleksa Markovic would contribute with layups to even the score 51-51. Back-to-back fouls from the Wildcats would put Woods at the line for four made charity stripes to create a three-point advantage (56-53). Carson Busch would drain a three-pointer to place Graceland in a three-point lead, and Markovic would add a layup to increase the gap (67-62). Braun (six points) and Busch (two points) would close the game to give the Yellowjackets a nine-point victory over the Wildcats, 75-66.
